What does traceability truly mean in practice? Traceability is no longer a differentiator in the cosmetic ingredients industry; today, it is an expectation. In Brazil, this responsibility is even greater, as biodiversity-based ingredients are directly connected to ecosystems such as the Amazon, which play a fundamental role in global climate balance.
Traditionally, traceability is defined by data, documents, and supply chain records—and this is essential. However, for us, it goes further. At Bielus, traceability is built in the field, through relationships. It means knowing who collected each seed, in which community, and following that story over time. It also means being present throughout the year, listening to local needs, and contributing to tangible improvements. In this way, this connection transforms the entire chain.
Where there is relationship, there is care. As a result, collectors begin to see value not only in the transaction, but in the continuity of the partnership and, consequently, in keeping the forest standing. Seed selection then reflects a shared commitment to quality, respect, and long-term sustainability.
In the end, for us, the most meaningful traceability is not only documented—it is lived. And this leads to something tangible: a more resilient supply chain and a final product whose quality reflects the care applied at every stage.
